In biology lecture, the professors explained that the manner in which hibernation and dormancy differ. So He talked the bear as the prototypical example. In hibernation, bearswill have a bite to eat and they will go to the bathromm, females will even have their cubs. But in dormancy, they are like very deep sleep. So they can conserve energy because their heart rates are lowered and their metabolisms are suppressed. Another example is reptiles like turtles and snakes. Their hibernation is different from the example of bears. The blood of animal is warm so they need to be able to control its body temperature. But  the blood of reptile is cold so their body temperature is determined by the environment features.
